Started Haley Phams debut! Been watching her for 2 years so super excited about this one~
First 20 pages: It is OKAY.
💗 Writing style: Some fun metaphors, and some that are doing a bit (ok way) too much but nothing that’s ruined the vibe
💗 Vibe: Feels really atmospheric, now I want to go to seabrook!
💗 Plot: My only major complaint is that the flashback scenes don’t really FLOW into the book

💗 Writing style: I think Haley’s writing is decent! I don’t think it deserves the amount of hate it’s getting right now, nor is it bestseller level, but it isn’t bad at all!

Ok 49 pages in, it’s feeling like a 3/5 so far!
💗 Writing: A lot of the metaphors aren’t landing, namely: “”GAHOH-Oh-gosh.” My body jolts like a boomer being shown one of those videos of a baseball flying straight at the camera.” or just the awkward fancy words?
💗 Vibes: Loving the scenery, the football field, Seabrook, loveee it!!!
💗 Plot: Hoping the pace picks up a bit faster soon🤞
