Started Haley Phams debut! Been watching her for 2 years so super excited about this one~
First 20 pages: It is OKAY.
💗 Writing style: Some fun metaphors, and some that are doing a bit (ok way) too much but nothing that’s ruined the vibe
💗 Vibe: Feels really atmospheric, now I want to go to seabrook!
💗 Plot: My only major complaint is that the flashback scenes don’t really FLOW into the book

💗 Writing style: It’s very YA, but then she drops in random words like “monosyllabic” which is a little confusing. I think the writing is pretty standard!
💗 Plot: It’s feeling a little cliché with the football scene, but still enjoyable. There’s just not a lot of forward momentum.
💗 Vibes: All is to say, I love the setting. I’m obsessed with Seabrook I think. It’s a lot more vibes than plot.
