Dude this is making me want to go out to Barnes and Noble and buy nonfiction novels, though I'm sure they wonmt be like this. His talk anout roots and Americans being mobile was also very interesting, goes with his whole 'Americans are restless' idea in his other works

I was really excited to read this book, as I thought it would be a bit of a detour from Steinbeck's usual novels. Another reason is because Steinbeck is such a wise person when it comes to America and its ideals, that reading a book about him travelling would in no way shape or form be boring. Like Wayward Bus, he ralks about the profound restlessness of US citizens, which is not surprising
