just finished chapter 26 and oh my GODDDD. finding the jewelry box in the closet is SO CORNY. i'm beside myself with this one. i called it from the milisecond chloe's fiance was introduced, OR it'll be a double twist and it's hers. this shit is so corny and i'm just forcing myself to read all the books i own to read more. will probably give this one away to the neighborhood library box.

I'm getting so tired of Chloe's bullshit. this is NOT the type of book i'd normally read. God of the Woods wasn't either, but i felt like i found an emerald in the rough there. this one, i don't. i'm so tired of the constant hinting about "who i secretly am" and the C-PTSD is VERY relatable but her choices are SO insufferable. i lowkey cannot stand her.

some of this pisses me off, such as the overly verbose " as that slender sleeve of seeds cascaded across the carpet". which made the gravely serious scene at hand sound like a limmerick. however other parts are sadly relatable. i think either the world's most obvious twist or the world's most obvious red herring is coming. won this book for free at book bingo.
