gotta be honest with u bros i think the mystery/crime aspect here is the weakest. im deffo enjoying it the least. im guessing its not the only crime to be investigate in this novel? so i hope its gonna get better later on.

Yes, and it's really amazing translation, that's why I'm still hesitating if I'll even buy official tl because I have a feeling it's not that good? I bought 1 vol but probaly won't further. Also, not a fan of covers and illustrations so far :( which is really sad because I was looking forward to having physical copies of this :((

Nel well that means if i like it enough i can just switch to the ftl

Monique, If it brings you any comfort, some of the writing did get edited by Priest herself. She changed some lines around to make Luo Wenzhou be less asshole/strict and made him kinder to his employees. I heard the translation is good, especially to make certain lines more natural in English instead of more literal.

I'm curious what you don't like about the illustrations?? 👀 Personally, I really like the interior black and white art. It gives me Manga like style with different screen tones to layer shades, adding different contrast. 🤩

Monique I'm sorry in advance for the rant 🫣 I'm actually a huge fan of Priest and also Mo Du ❤️
I didn't know that Priest edited it. Though, I didn't mind Wenzhou being his asshole self, lol. I actually really like when fan translations are more literal because I like learning new stuff and I think you can learn a lot about culture through language and it really bothers me when some things are translated incorrectly just to be easier to understand (maybe it's also because I'm not native english speaker, so it's not that it would sound to me natural anyway). But that just my pet peeve. Honestly, usually I'm not bothered even if translation is bad but if I'm able to compare, then it really sucks when ftl is better 😅 I'll definitely read vol 1 that I own already to see how the official transaltion is 😄

I don't exactly dislike inner ilustrations but I'm not really a fan of comics and I never read any manga, so I'm not attached to that style. Personally, it's not exactly to my liking. But what bothers me is the cover because I have a feeling they don't look like like they are described. Luo Wenzhou kind of seems too young and doesn't look tough enough. While Fei Du looks like he's the one who's in gym everyday. Also, his fashion style is totally different, he looks like grandpa here, lol. I much prefer russian covers for example 😄

As a fellow Priest fan, I totally understand! 🤣 Yeah! That's true! I don't mind the literal translation because the things they say to insult each other is so funny! 😂 I don't know if they added footnotes or whatever. But this story is definitely one I wanna reread in the official's to compare! Yes! Asshole Luo Wenzhou that gets riled up all hot and bothered by princess Fei Du! 🤣

That makes sense about the art! I did find it weird they made Fei Du large and the others look young like Nel said. Taoran and Wenzhou are like 8 years older! But I think it's the angles in the inner art. I love his hair tho! Besides the size, I'm just a fan of all the other things. Lol. I've read Mangas all my life, so it makes sense why it's hard to get used to or appreciate off the bat.

Also, what other language do you speak? My first language is Spanish. Haha so when you're talking about sayings being original and how it's better, 100% agree!
