These poems are ANNOYING. Also I know I am not the target audience for this but Gilbert idolizes a person that she has a hard time seeing as less than perfect and it’s quite irritating how she THINKS she is describing Reyya as a regular person. She talks about her love addiction’s impact on her relationship but also keeps using stories to try to convince readers that this person was the best human ever.

Everything about this just screams that these 2 people probably shouldn’t have been together. And Gilbert also admits that she wants people to love her and Reyya after reading this so. There’s that. I just can’t see her as a likable person

Gilbert describes Reyya’s communication as if she wants it to be endearing but it sounds uncomfortable and childish. I find that people who say “I’m just being honest” use it to get away with saying rude or inappropriate things on purpose

Not really a fan of the writing style. Some of what’s being said is repetitive which I know is a stylistic choice but it’s also exhausting when you’re wading through all that figurative language and it feels like we’re never moving on from that point. At the same time, it feels very choppy
