I wanted someone to beg for me to stay or profess their love. Anything less no longer felt worth my time. I had lived a whole life of bland and measured talk.

I was done crying. I was done being a girl. I wanted to be something that could scream loud enough for the world to hear. I wanted to be like the king— nothing like a woman. Respected but not respectable. Hell where my gender should be.
