I feel for the English version readers, most of whom didn't enjoy this work. If you are not a speaker of the Turkish language, I honestly do not know how one would appreciate this magnificent work of literature. So much would be "lost in translation," a term that was coined for cases exactly like this one.

So much would be "lost in translation," a term that was coined for cases such as this one.

I feel for the English version readers. If you are not a speaker of the Turkish language, I honestly do not know how one would enjoy this magnificent work of literature. So much would be “lost in translation,” a term that was coined for cases such as this one.

To truly feel this novel, one needs to be informed of sociatel layers of Türkiye, cultural layers of her nation, and her language & linguistic kirks.

Dün akşam konusu açıldı, canım çekti, en son ilk yüksek lisans programımı yaparken, Kanada’da ilk göçmen yıllarımdaki yalnızlık dönemlerimde okumuştum, dün konusu açılınca canım çekti, gecenin ortasında kütüphanemin arkalarından çektim aldım, yine yeniden keyifli.
