I'm so bored 😭. I don't know how a book can be this slow. How many times can I read about the characters drinking water 😭?

I'm determined to finish this book tonight.

It's gotten a little better but I'm still bored 😭. At this rate the book will have a 2.5 star rating. Also I still haven't had one 5 star this year.

At least Elspeth is now with other humans but this quest is the most boring one I have ever read 😭. I am reading this book so slowly because hardly anything is happening. I can't wait to be done with this book. It's definitely my least favorite in the series.

I'm so bored 😭. I need something to happen besides going past lots of lakes. Also this author is the wordiest author I have ever read. She's descriptive to the point of it being unnecessary. This book could have been edited down to half its size. I hope the last book isn't as slow as this one.

Hardly anything at all has happened since my last update. There are lots of descriptions of Elspeth's journey to her quest with her animal companions. This series has always been pretty slow-paced for the most part but the pacing here is truly glacial.

Almost halfway through the book and Elspeth is finally going on the quest that the blurb says this book is about. Also I planned to read The red queen straight after this but with how long I have been reading this I can tell that would probably put me into a slump.

I am reading this pretty slowly but I'm not trying to rush through it. Hopefully it won't put me into a slump.

It's gotten a bit better. Rushton returned which always keeps me engaged. His romance with Elspeth is such a subplot but I do enjoy the crumbs of it. However this book is still really slow. I'm waiting for something big to happen but I might have to wait until the middle or the end of the book.

I'm bored 😭. I want something interesting to happen soon because nothing has really happened so far.
