I like how the author is making the case for preventive measures. Clearly, a lot of his suggestions are the exact opposite of what the country I live in has done so far. Let's not get into the reasons that seem to form the basis, but it means I like the book and the analysis a lot.

A heavy topic, definitely VERY important where I live.
I'm glad the author knows what he's talking about and is not taking an emotional or propagandistic, but a scientific approach (he's a forensic psychiatrist). Makes the book drier than what most people might be used to, but it's exactly the approach we need.

Presumably, people have more a problem with what the data shows than how he arrived at his conclusions and since they can't argue with numbers, they try to attack the author's skills. Nothing new, but pathetic all the same.
