I am a sucker for Moby Dick retellings. I hated the original book with a blinding passion. It was the first book I ever DNF'd. And yet I love and am drawn to retellings of it for reasons I cannot fathom.

That said, I'm a little overwhelmed by this one right now. It is good. Genius, even. And yet it is just a too Moby Dickian and I can't quite get into it. I plan to return to this when I have a little more bandwidth.
