okay i changed my mind, i’m going to try and read this behemoth instead of the piano teacher, being that i’ve been on a 60s kick for a little while now (ronnie spector’s biography, and almost halfway through madam boyd’s as well) so i decided to keep the party going

i pray to god that it’s 1966 and not 2026 every time i open my eyes in the morning-

i stopped reading this two months ago but i wanted this book to be my summer read so i can carry it around with me anyways so i’m gonna be taking this to the gym with me on the treadmill and out to my friend’s place to chill at their pools and whatever else

(plus i have watched beyond the valley of the dolls like 10 times-)

honestly anne is lowkey a stuck up snob who only thinks about herself buuuuuuut but lyon is untrustworthy—the only people i like right now are neely and jennifer (which makes sense as to why they casted sharon tate, who was known to be outrageously attractive and a sweetheart just like ms. north)

i don’t see anything wrong with the way anne and allen broke up


she told him repeatedly that she didn’t love him, she wanted to be a working girl, and she didn’t want to get married—he proceeded to slap a ring on her finger and parade her around new york like a shiny wife robot. cheating is only cheating if both people are in a relationship…

if i was anne, i’d move to the middle of nowhere and avoid every single one of them

i took a nap and now i’m wide awake trying to chip away at the length of this


i kinda agree with neely—we really don’t know who helen lawson is just yet. but i like that. i like that the writing has some subtle noir tones and there’s definitely a pinky hue in my mind when i’m reading

so helen isn’t bipolar???
