Still quite dense. Lots of historical details. A kids' edition may serve me better, but I'll keep at it. This got a GREAT recommendation from a local bookstore.

Dense first chapter. Lots of historical geology (shifting rivers, limestone erosion, lake formation). There was one map in chapter 1 but I wish there were more to illustrate exact locations of places mentioned.
