The more I read, the more or realize why this is my least read book in the Anne series. Also, I basically recall nothing that has happened in this book.
I mean, while I knew Anne basically disappears in this book, even her children barely figure, ceding to the Merediths' as the primary figures. And it's just not fun having the people you want to hear from be background characters to nobodies.

And so continues my 2026 goal to reread the Anne series. And possibly into books by LM Montgomery I haven't yet read.
Here we get to the first book where Anne is no longer the central figure which the narrative revolves around. This time her children takes centerstage, underlining LM Montgomery's preferred audience and writing style.
Though 10 percent in and I'm only just meeting the Meredith children.
