Trying to trust Akwaeke but this is torture. My biggest issue with books like this is someone has to behave out of character for the romance to succeed. Either the father, who is loving and doting on his son, has to say fuck it I don't care if my son hates me. Or the son has to shrug and give his blessing even though he's clearly head over heels with this girl. All I really ask from romance is that it makes sense lol
