Drat, I was not expecting the memoir aspects—not really what I’m here for 🫤
Gotta admit getting tired of this particular publishing trend—I’d kinda rather just read more about the non-humans and weird science than the author going through their gender journey or newly divorced single life or being pregnant or whatever.

Gonna give this up for now: just not in the mood for this particular style of science/memoir writing right now, though I really appreciate the historical context being drawn in and the wider perspective of how colonialism and white supremacy shape our experience of the study of the natural world. Just … more here for the cool more-than-human stuff than the human autobiography right now.
