Do you ever read something and think, did that just say what I think it just said? And seeing as you're reading a classic that many a brilliant minds have read before you, surely, if it says what you think it says, many have already addressed it. But then you google and search a combination of words that have no business being put together and find nothing. Except for a comment by a now-deleted reddit account...

I've read the book five or six times. Ignatius never irritated me. I felt very sorry for him. I think that's why O'toole allows us to share a private moment with Ignatius; masturbating into a rubber glove while thinking about his deceased dog. It was a sad scene for me to read. I know some people interpret the relationship as being bestial, but I don't think it was, it was the only time in his life he experienced unconditional love, and that's what he masturbated to, not sex.

(I've always wanted to see a 1 hour Family Guy special of this novel, the characters are all there)
