I love Ashe. I love his stories. I do. But he may disenfranchise some of his readers.
He relies on exaggerated, satirical portrayals of ultra-conservative characters—especially around religion and gun culture—reducing them to hypocritical & extreme archetypes. Areas of his writing are so overpowered with bias, the characters lack any depth or interest, & feel just like stand ins for the author’s personal hatred
