I don't know why it drives me crazy when people rate books that haven't been released and/or read. I don't understand. It messes with the rating. I'm a grump, I know :(

I didn't even know that was a thing until recently. Why do people do this? It's beyond me!
Unless they received it as an ARC I completely agree. It annoys me and you can't get an accurate rating so you don't actually know if it's good or not.
I try to pick books based off of stars that have actually reviews written.
Im mainly grousing because several popular authors have released new books recently that I was considering buying. I felt like I had to wade through a hundred 5 star reviews - written months ago - that basically read: "I can't wait! Its gonna be awesome!!"ARC reviews are a different story. Although I dont give them as much weight as post release reviews generally.
