Almost as though it was written by some of his kookier villains of the past... which could be loony enough to buy the Faux update. (I'm thinking of FBI Ray of Dark Rivers of the Heart. Or the life-absorber from Watchers.)

Feeling like Mr Koontz has been watching Faux news and am feeling sad. First reference to MS13 i thought was maybe a joke. Second reference to all the illegals in the road with fake licenses seems more serious. As someone who has been reading Koontz for 35+ years, this brings me sorrow.
On a less political note, the tone in this novel is different from his previous iterations. Somewhat absurdist.
