You think for a few chapters that this is not going to be scary - and the whole things seems like cliched. But then the whole thing starts to pick up speed and Old Mommy brings out her trump card for carnations - the voice.
Didn't expect that, didn't expect it to be so realistic was she mumbling the truth? Or was she trying to even add disquiet between the relationship of Mommy and Bella - to get what she desires!

I am really glad that Bela's parents or atleast her Daddo who looks to be the more sincere of the two in the relationship consulted Lois Anthony, Marsha seeing a monster and Bela admitting that to be other Mommy is good atleast now they all know something is definitely amiss.

Writing as an 8 year old would make you think that the child character won't be able to convey much and it is a silly idea. But it is clever.
