mannnnn the ending was sad and wistful. It’s sad to realize that our chaotic, messy high school life is just a chapter we will eventually forget and move on from. Nevertheless, it will always remain the best part of our lives, no matter how heartbreaking or embarrassing it was.

I did end up being less of a pubescent mess. What Beth had said was kind of true—you start to figure things out.

grown up adults brushing all their problems under the rug to avoid unnecessary drama and tension. thats so fucked up. why do adults do this. why dont they just confront whats the issue in front of them.

why do adults always act so civil and polite to each other instead of patching things up it's so annoying

happily ever after does not exist you cant just easily drive into the sunset that easy and that will solve all the problems.

you can't forever live in a bubble of fantasy. whether you like it or not, sometimes the truth is harsh and you must live with it. gracie's family is fucked up and so is wade's.

This was messy, just like any teenage formative/transformative year. Gracie's unique voice is already a selling point of this book


oh nooo this anger management of wade. he got it from his father who is violent af huhu it runs in the blood after all. whether we like it or not, we get our attitude from the way we are brought up and the way our parents behave.

gracie has a strong voice in this book and i was looking forward for a more grand and fun rollercoaster ride. not this swing which stopped immediately before you know it.

it's already coming to an end but it still feels anticlimactic? sure gracie learned to love herself and had this lightbulb moment with beth of how unique and brave she is for putting herself all through shit just to experience things. that not cool girls are cool, sometimes theyre just boring too. but i dont know the second half felt flat to me.

the 2nd half dragged a bit. i enjoyed the 1st half bc of the teenage romance and all the sexuality stuff. but now gracie and wade are constantly moping around with their broken hearts that im fed up of it.
