That’s not what bias means, Scythe Goddard.
Chapter 17 is interesting. I don’t quite know what to make of it.
GREYSON WATCH OUT
So Scythe Faraday has moved into his depression arc. He’s a grouch now. He also definitely doesn’t have a favorite child (It’s Citra).

A beautiful end to a beautiful series. I didn’t crashout like I did with the other books, though.
The POV (idk whether to call it 3rd Limited or Omniscient) is perfect in that ending. You see where every character ended up. You see how the world moved on. (Scythe Goddard is dead!)
I can’t recommend this series enough. It’s such a unique dystopia. I can’t wait to read Shusterman’s other work!

Live laugh hate Scythe Goddard. Also wondering what Cirrus looks like.
Will there be a fourth genocide in this book?

I don’t know how to feel about that. It makes me vaguely uncomfortable. Like what? The Thunderhead just stole Jeri’s autonomy?????? Or?

THERES GOING TO BE ANOTHER GENOCIDE???? THE TONISTS NEED TO RUN. WHAT DOES GODDARD HAVE AGAINST THOSE GUYS???? (I do realize that this is prolly just Goddard pulling a dictator and placing blame on a minority. Especially a minority that is already disliked among the general population.)

I’ve noticed something about this section of the book (Year of the Cobra). The only little blurb from a journal/character/testament of the tone/interaction is at the beginning of it. Looking ahead to the end of the section, they are noticeably absent. Last time this happened, bad things came, so now I’m scared.
Also, Greyson is getting very powerful. He hates it so much it’s funny.

As much as that is 100% Scythe Rand’s fault (and I still don’t like her for it), it made me tear up a little? I’m glad she regrets it. She deserves it.
Also, Greyson is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. “I tell people what the Thunderhead says, except for when I don’t.” He’s such a silly guy. Who is also now a cult leader. He’s great.

Scythe Faraday is a legend among men. Always slaying, even when the love of his life is permanently dead.
ALSO ROWAN DID NO SUCH THING. HES (mostly) INNOCENT!

AHHHHHHH THE WORLD ID IN DESPAIR
I hate the opening letter. Goddard sucks.
Everyone is depressed. At least some people are able to do things.
