there are two wolves inside me. one realizes that CPG is critiquing very specific parts of the patriarchy in only so many pages, and the other part of me just doesn't believe you can talk about an all female society and have there be no gay people. I guess if they've evolved to reproduce asexually maybe they've evolved not to experience sexual attraction. but like :/ come on CPG

the jury is still out but the way their society is so motherhood focused feels reductive to me. it's an all woman society and still their lives are extremely motherhood and child rearing centric? like that's obvi valuable but it's everything to these people, it's their whole shtick. I don't like that

I think men are better than women but not like fundamentally so. thus a gripe I have with some feminist stories of all female societies I feel like okay well. I'm most sure that it would be a perfect utopia. and I'm just not sure that this deals with contrasting the patriarchy in a way that is interesting or meaningful to me. still thinking about it. lots of tabbed sections to revisit.
