DNF - I can’t imagine what the author was thinking in creating such a vapid, self-centered main character. She’s almost creepy in her cloying attachment to her adult children & her anger at her beleaguered husband. I figure we are heading towards the big reveal of her greatest heartbreak but she’s insufferable. I almost put it down earlier but around the halfway point she outdoes herself & I can’t take it!
