just finished northeast regional - i really liked this one, prob second to the nanny atp, unfolded like a mystery, the last scene too was unsettling in a good way

just finished arcadia - i liked it but damn maybe short stories aren’t for me bc i just want MORE, but also i feel like the point of this is that the farm is a trap so like the fact that nothing happens other than heddy putting on eyeliner makes sense, makes you feel trapped

just finished son of friedman and the nanny - liked SoF but the nanny is hands down my fav so far, i’m like disappointed that it’s over i want more to happen i want to know more about jessica about what happens next like how does the family move on sigh

just finished the third story (menlo park), this one’s definitely my favorite so far, probably because i am also at this defeated “what’s next” moment in my life, but also a lot of it is just how cline writes as an omnipotent narrator but in the tone of how the protagonist is thinking, and so perfectly describes what it’s like to be waiting and waiting even when busy with something else ugh loved this one

two days ago i read the entire second story on the plane (los angeles), really liked this one it kept me hooked, the ending was weird and ambiguous and got me thinking which is always good, i think i liked it a little better than the first one

finished the first story (what can you do with a general or something like that lol), i liked it a lot but i feel like it could’ve had a stronger ending, a lot of things went said but unexplained which i guess is the point i just like it when those things come to bite you at the end so to speak
