well there definitely wasn’t any proto-horror in the second half (or last 40%?) of this book. unless war and failing to get married can be classified as that.

the words are evocative i guess. i can see things in my minds eye. but i don’t know who these people are nor do i care what happens to them.

what are they, vampires? lepers?
