initially it felt like the romance was getting in the way of the plot, like sort of slowing everything down in ways i was starting to find kind of tedious. i can only meander through mutual pining and horny inner monologues for so long… but once the romance and the plot started working together, this became a lot more enjoyable.

paladins are knight-adjacent enough that i can be horny about them, even if their fealty is to a god or vibes and not a prince they can submit to like a well-trained dog.
