why is this book fucking heartbreaking!!!!!!

Sethe killed Beloved in the shed (meant to kill all of her children) before the school teacher found them and took them back to Sweet Home-- instead she was imprisoned with her youngest: Denver.
Her black eyes stood out to me.
Also who TF is Stamp Paid?

there must be something more sinister about sweet home than how baby suggs sees the Garners... why are they so humane? and why does Paul D and Sethe see it so differently?

also sethe has some very interesting and karmic luck… i wonder if this has anything to do with Denver as well

At the part where they fully explain denver’s birth
- Paul D: good intentions, sort of 6th sense, protection
- Sethe: almost avoidant, loves her family and hard ass
- Denver: sort of ungrateful and selfish, wants a sister, found out she’s 18
- Beloved: bewitched odd energy, life sucking
- Amy: still unsure why she helped Sethe
