This version of Supergirl has a different backstory than what we're used to. She didn't fly away on another shuttle to take care of her baby cousin. She was there when Krypton was being destroyed. She walked its streets. Saw the carnage and death of it all.
And she's saying this while riding a Kryptonian horse named Comet. What the heck is with this tonal differences in these books I'm reading? Lol

If it wasn't for the fact that this was a volume that I was halfway through, I would've been greatly worried for our protagonists at this moment despite it being about Supergirl. But now we're back on the hunt.

Yay, Ruthye's first kill! Unfortunately, the monster was too heavy to be moved and she's too weak. So now the scavengers come.

Different colored suns provide different drawbacks or advantages to Kryptonians. I don't think we've ever seen that in any movie. Red suns have been the most frequent in media though.

Just when their quarry is within reach, he slips from their grasp by the one thing that Supergirl cannot predict or fight against: magic.

Gosh dang it. I put the wrong comment on the wrong book.

I do hope that the Supergirl that we see in the movie is at least similar to what is in here with random acts of kindness to strangers; saving a baby after a genocide, feeding a wounded man in a hospital, helping to bury hundreds in their own graves. It's sad, but it's moving.

This is not a super heroic comic book as we are following the aftermath of genocidal maniacs.

So, it is based off of skin color and class.

I love that detail of Supergirl getting shot in the face and the bullet is dented into her eye only for her to flick it off.
So, are the Purples and the Blues based off of skin color? Eye color? What?
