But would this even be possible though? Isn’t influenza particularly dangerous BECAUSE of its long incubation period? It just seems like any model of a 48-hours-and-you-die infectious disease wouldn’t be able to spread across the world that easily… is there enough symptomless time to infect others without being quarantined?

I’m enjoying the book but she must have been insufferable to confine with during COVID
