Re-starting this. Been wanting to get back to this for a long time. Made it to about page 420 a few years back but life interceded. Seems much more a breeze this time; given how difficult Joyce's Finnegan's Wake is by comparison. There's nothing here that seems to be stopping me. I'm liking it a lot more.

There's an odds-on chance that I might finish Finnegans Wake before I finish this. That ought to tell you something.

Dr. Smith: "Oh the pain, the pain."
Bugs Bunny: "Agony Aaaa-goh-neeee!"
Me: "When, oh when, will it end?"

I read somewhere that Gaddis thought he should have won the Nobel Prize for this. Clearly as delusional as all of the characters in this book.

Past the halfway point and after a strong start this book is going downhill faster than the stock market whenever Donald Trump says or does some irresponsible dumbassery. Every page, its stock devalues as it repeats the same patterns of nothingness. Last night I already wrote my review but won't post it till I finish the book. I'm afraid it won't be pretty. Lit bros, you've been warned.

Reached the mark where I abandoned the book five years ago. But what's this? We have an episode of religious mania that feels like it's right out of Finnegans Wake with almost the same dense writing and...how is this cricket? making me read Finnegans Wake twice... Bring it on, difficulty mongers...

There's a character in this who looks like Hemingway, but he's not. So, I guess this gets placed on the "hemingway ubiquitous cameos" tag.
