With the elimination of messaging here on GR, I've decided to explore other options should Amazon continue its GR cutbacks. I'm not leaving GR, just diversifying.
My first attempt at a new residence is LibraryThing. Importing my library and reviews was easy, but the format is different and maybe a little daunting at the moment. If you go, feel free to contact me there: same screenname, same avatar.

Yeah, not loving that aspect. All you can do is like a review or report it. You can message the reviewer directly, which could be awkward. You can follow them or send a friend request. But the only way to get a group discussion like on GR would be to form a group to discuss it, but who wants to form a group for every book they review? Alternatively, you join a global "discuss this book" group which would be chaos if you've got 1,000+ people who've read the book.
I don't know if there's a way to search for existing members. The only way to randomly find people seems to be similar libraries or scrolling through individual books that you know that that person read.
