Chapter 3 is about sex dolls, the way that they’re marketed, then used and how it perpetuates rape culture. The statistics about how many men Prefer their doll to not talk is astounding. Then the argument that these dolls prevent violence from happening to women is an absolute joke. Arguments around these sex dolls really remind me of the arguments about porn- “it’s beneficial for lonely men” …at what cost?

Really distressed about the Minecraft section of this. Something that is marketed for kids being used to groom and assault kids. Then the meta-verse grooming and assaulting of children who are online presenting as teenagers, but who are actually 10,11,12. First of all, where are their parents? Second of all what is wrong with men?

First chapter is about deepfakes and how harmful they are to women&girls. She makes so many fantastic points, but one I keep coming back to is her labeling this as violence and intimidation as a means of control and power…then she reminds us that that is also how one might define terrorism. By drawing this connection, she accurately encompasses the threat posed to women
