btw this isn't an aesthetics thing, women with large breasts need to wear a bra because it hurts a lot, either in the breasts themselves or it makes back/shoulder pain worse. this is applicable to implants bc implants may be less prone to aesthetic reasons for wearing a bra, but you're still going to get pain.

maybe there are women with large breasts who can wear a bra without increasing pain in some part of their body but i've never come across one and i've talked to A LOT of women with big breasts because i'm one too, and thus a member of a forum where we talk about issues and finding good clothes and whatever so i feel like i have a large sample size there.

i'm sure there is at least one woman in the world who has tig ol' bitties and can go braless without detriment but it's so rare that writing a female character reads as very, idk, for the male gaze, or that kushner just does not understand big boob anatomy.

again, i HOPE (and suspect - the writing is good and the protag is obviously not supposed to be a mary sue) that this is part of the protag being unreliable and a bullshitter. that would be pretty good writing. but atp i'm used to everyone not understanding how big boobs work, hence the rant.
