Margaret saying this after Thornton said (very pathetically) that “he’s no longer interested in her” when mind you he rambled on about the way she walked three paragraphs prior. Pathetic!! I love them!!

“He never looked at her; and yet, the careful avoidance of his eyes betokened that in some way he knew exactly where, if they fell by chance, they would rest on her.”

this book is pretty much 30% socialism, 20% death, and 50% thornton yearning for margaret. this is how i like my books, indeed!

listening to the audiobook while reading the book is the best idea i ever had
