The central metaphor of the story has unfolded for me. I have to say I’m staggered by its depth and pessimism. If it keeps it up this is gonna be your favourite classic of mine.

So amazing use of early biology to form a truly disturbing and compling story.

It’s a little bit up and down, but overall, I’m loving this. It has a fantastic horrifying edge for a book of its time.

Very spooky

I am absolutely loving this so far. This is such a classic that’s had so much influence on horror and suspense writing since. Just the idea of an isolated island full of monsters is so ripe with potential.

I love the language used in 19th century literature.
