why does William Golding go on and on about how beautiful and tanned and fair Ralph is but we refer to Piggy as "the fat boy" for like 5 pages before having anything to call him by, and once we do, we're calling him Piggy! of all things!

writing style reminds me of Fahrenheit 451 a little bit with how the characters talk and pacing and whatnot
