I don't understand how the hawk is supposed to help with her grief. Is it a distraction? Also, she was so close with her father that his death completely rocked her, but she has done very little to show us why he was so special to her. Pr anything about him really, other than that he was a photographer.

I didn't even realize this was a memoir until five chapters in. 🤦🏼‍♀️
