Slow but interesting enough to hold my attention

I have high expectations for this book, partly because it falls into a category I haven’t explored before. My last read, Yellowface, was excellent, so the bar has been set quite high. I’m hoping this book will be worth the effort, as I’m navigating a lot of new territory in my reading experience.
