Is it possible to not give a damn about one single character by page 46? It can't be the reading slump that's got me hating 3 books in a row. I'm just picking poorly at this point.

Usually DNF if I can't be bothered by page 100 but...I'm intrigued. It's reminding me a lot of 'The Book of Accidents' but...I'll give it 48 more pages and see how we go.

i DNF’d this for the same reason. i didn’t feel like there was much tension by page 100 or so.
