decided to reread this and man, priest is so good. also! i think this may have been one of, if not the first lovecraftian novels i ever read, bc i sure didn't know what miskatonic university was back then, lmao.

this is the scariest book i've read in awhile-- since Horns, i think. cherie priest is so good at atmosphere, and the epistolary style works really well.
