The yilani meets a primitive tribe of yilani ones that haven't even learned to talk yet. Meanwhile Kerrick's family is exploring the cold north and find some forested land. While exploring that land, Kerrick has a run in with something that looks like a terror bird.

Vainte is aware of where Kerrick is heading, and trying to track him.

Kerrick has reunited with his mate Armun, and meets the ice tribe known as paramutan.

The Yilani are currently building a new city near the Tanu. This one is going to be fireproof.

Amun has met other Tanu, this tribe are more ice fishers.

Kerrick has managed to talk to ruler of the yilani, in an attempt to stom Vainita from killing his people. The ruler has listened, and obeyed, but will Vainita?

The Yilani have found another tribe of theirs in a new part of the world, but in this tribe the male are the dominate ones.

Kerrick, and his wife and son have found the people that live in the icy cold of the north.
