okay my thing w this book is if ur gonna have a corrupt government plot, u either need to be rly good at hiding it/selling their “un-corruptness” OR u need to lay it out all on the table like the hunger games did. being half-in, half-out for a teen/YA book seems whimpy and confusing, especially when ur plot doesn’t even truly come together until the last 100 pages

this book is 75% tris being horny for four, 15% 2010s YA dystopian vibes, 5% good writing and characters, and 5% plot. like u could not Pay me to tell u what the overarching plot is here, other than dauntless is parkour cyberpunks and tris thinks four is the sexiest man alive

still such a fun time but also just all vibes and almost zero plot

this book is so bad but so good at the same time

literally all the names in the world at her feet, she genuinely could have picked a totally separate name from beatrice, but the bitch still picks TRIS to be her new name….. do not play w me
