Zahn does this thing where he constantly uses heartbeats to describe a length of time and I won’t lie, I don’t really love it.
Also, they finally gave us Mara’s backstory and I’m not gonna lie, it’s not compelling not really. And I lowkey got a spoiler about her and it kinda makes her character even less interesting smh

The story has really been picking up a lot and I’m realizing now that it’s because it’s been a while since we’ve seen corny ass wannabe Sherlock Holmes ass Thrawn in a while.

Real shame the passive kind of attitude that the new republic is taking post Vader/Emperor imperial regime. Like go hunt them???

There’s an author’s note in this version where the writer tells us how readers often compare thrawn to Sherlock Holmes and I think that that was intentional but also I think that our author is not very smart

Luke, Leia, and Hans need to figure this out asap because they’re on whole defense and idk. I’m realizing I’m just reading sanctioned fan fiction and it makes me wanna DNF this low-key

The concept of Star Wars legends is so interesting because why is there all of a sudden a dark Jedi that was chilling on Dagobah ~20 years before Luke was there with Yoda and Yoda just never mentioned it

So far it’s pretty good but there’s a little too many callbacks to the movies. Makes me feel like the author had a really hard time writing something that felt like Star Wars so he’s using references as a clutch
