Pretty much the only thing saving this book rn are all the narnia references. That series was my childhood so I'm eating them up. CS Lewis would roll in his grave if he knew his series would be referenced in a book like this.

nine pages in and I already hate the main character for calling her mom by her first name. also who names their child matilda? I don't wanna hear anyone going by the name of matilda except my roald dahl icon
