Starting to warm up to the characters a little, but how have I been reading this forever and am not even halfway done? I just cannot care enough about men, too stubborn to talk about their trauma and try to get help for themselves, to read about decades of this struggle over hundreds of pages with no real progess or change.

This sentence by Andy pretty much perfectly sums up my feelings towards Jude: "There's something incredibly arrogant about your stubbornnes, Jude. Your utter refusal to listen to anyone about anything that concerns your health or well-being is either a pathological case of self-destructiveness or it's a huge fuck-you to the rest of us."
So far, I am dredging my way through this, it's so male ..

So far not much is happening. I am mostly confused because I keep thinking this is set in the early 20th century and then get confused because it is modern in fact.
