I’m sure this doesn’t imply that women *never* need medical intervention. But it does seem they need it less often than offered.

Well I gave birth before finishing this book. And it was via emergency c-section. As much as you can try to prepare for the ideal, real life sometimes requires making compromises for the greater good. I spent so much time trying to prepare to surrender to contractions—I did not anticipate having to surrender to the process in other ways, although I did acknowledge I couldn’t control nor know how it would go.
