This was a sickness that had come as a result of the explosion. We knew it was a new, different, and more lethal type of bomb, unlike any other that had been used in this war, or in any war.

With every inch I moved, more of my flesh scraped off. I could not distinguish which parts of my body were hurting the most. All I could think was, Goddamn this hurts. Hurts. Kills. I'm losing my mind. No more.

I wasn't even afraid of dying. The pain was beyond imagination, and I just wanted to be free from it. I longed to feel the sensation of my own death. If I died, I wouldn't have to keep suffering.
