"There is no doubt about it"... a story of a hen that plucks herself of all her feathers to impress the cock, get ridiculed by the owls, other hens copy her, the story is published in the news, and the plucked hens die of hypothermia.....There is a message here lol

Tin Soldier is such a tragic story.... but he did get what he always wanted near the end :/

The Daisy - clearly a metaphor, someone the author knew and their life as he imagined it. Daisy representing a naive person who through no fault of their own has to witness and endure such unnecessary hardship.
